I truly enjoyed doing the Innokin iTaste Kroma vape kit review. While hundreds of vaping review sites have popped up over the last couple of years, Expert Vaping goes way back to the early days of vaping. We were in the e-cigarette business almost from the beginning. Some of the early vape mods that started to change how people vape came from Innokin. The iTaste mods were trend setters way back when. The iTaste SVD, the iTaste 134 and then the iTaste VTR are now classics. In fact, the VTR was one of the first box mods. Seeing another Innokin iTaste mod really took me back.
The tradition of iTaste mods continues. The newest version is the Innokin iTaste Kroma 75 watt TC mod kit complete with the SlipStream sub ohm e-cig tank. The Kroma is a 75 watt mod designed for stealth and grip. The design is ergonomic, curved to match the contours of your palm. The Innokin Kroma stands 72 mm tall or 2.8 inches. It is small but the 2000 mAh battery makes the power storage roughly equivalent to a single 18650 mod.
The new iTaste Kroma mod features several vaping modes including variable wattage and temperature control with Ni (nickel), Ti (titanium) and SS (stainless steel). The starter kit comes with a 0.8 ohm kanthal coil for subohm vaping and a 0.5 ohm stainless steel coil for temperature control. So you can try both sub ohm and temp control vaping right away.
Innokin iTaste Kroma Aethon Chip
The Innokin iTaste Kroma kit sells for $52 to $55 and comes with the Kroma vape mod, the SlipStream tank, 2 atomizer coils, spare o-rings, a 510 atomizer adapter so you can use any tank on the device and the user manual. The 2000 mAh battery is internal so you do not have to buy a battery separately.
The Innokin iTaste Kroma is powered by the new Aethon chipset. This was first released with the Cool Fire devices. The claim to fame of the Aethon chip is accurate temperature control that promises no dry hits and a very fast fire time. They say 0.2 seconds from fire button to vapor production. There is also noise cancellation on the power output to aid in any mission to stealth vape! The Aethon also does an excellent job uniformly heating coils. The new Innokin Aethon chip is designed to prevent hot spots in coils and that should equate to a better vape and optimized coil life.
In addition to variable wattage, Ni, Ti and SS vaping options, the Kroma mod also lets you set up a ramp up temperature. This is a popular feature in today’s mods and can deliver a stronger initial hit.
All in all, there is a lot of new innovation here and I was very excited to test this out. I have been hoping for a new iTaste vape mod and here it is. I sometimes still use my iTaste 134 because it still works awesome and looks like a lightsaber. So we’ve had our introduction now on to our Innokin iTaste Kroma TC vape mod review!

By the way if you are looking for a larger, more powerful vape mod but still want to keep it affordable then by all means you should take a look at something like the Smok Alien 220 watt mod.
The Innokin iTaste Kroma mod kit is designed to be an affordable yet high quality and stylish stealth mod. I have used that word so many times now you are probably getting annoyed! I would show you how small it is and I took a picture with the Kroma in my hands but my big old mitts do not really give you a relatable scale. Okay, so here is a pic of the Kroma in the normal sized hands of an Innokin employee.
iTaste Kroma Size
So you see it fits comfortable and neatly in her hand and the ergonomic shaping to accommodate a solid grip add to the comfort factor.
For me, the over-arching features that I want to express in the Innokin iTaste Kroma vape kit review are that this is a small and very portable device. It is all-in-one. It is under $55 and easy to use. The new Aethon chip also makes for very smooth, reliable and consistent vaping. One of the best small sized temp control mod kits.
Kroma Mod Specs
The iTaste Kroma mod specs start with the power output and capacity. It will reach from 6 watts up to 75 watts. The temperature control option range 150 degrees C (300 F) up to 315 degrees C (600 F). These are the standard temperature control vaping ranges for TC mods.
In the bullet point specs for the Kroma mod, the first point denotes the 510 connection. The specs describe an “inset” 510. This is because it is not a standard 510. The inset is designed to work with the SlipStream tank that comes with the Kroma mod kit. The reason is because the SlipStream sub ohm vape tank insets more deeply than standard to give the tank a lower profile when attached to the body of the mod. The purpose is to make the overall size more compact and it looks great and works beautifully. But if you want to use a different tank on the Kroma don’t worry, you will get an adapter to offset the inset and make any 510 atomizer compatible with the Kroma.
Here You Can See The OLED Screen And Full Length Of The SlipStream Tank. When Assembled In The Inset 510, A Large Portion Of The Tank Sits Within The Body Of The Kroma Mod.Now on to the rest of the Innokin iTaste Kroma vape kit review specs:

SlipStream Vape Tank Specs
The SlipStream vape tank that comes with the Kroma mod kit is a sub ohm and TC vape tank with a 2 ml e-juice capacity. The SlipStream tank is a top fill tank. To refill the tank you press down on the cap and then unthread. The push down to unthread action is a child proofing feature. There is an easy to dial adjustable airflow ring at the top of the tank.
You can replace the coils by removing the top cap. You don’t have to take the tank off and take it apart from the bottom. The kit comes with a 0.8 ohm Kanthal sub ohm coil and a 0.5 ohm stainless steel 316L temperature control coil. Just a note, you can use stainless steel coils in variable wattage mode as well. SS is the only TC coil wire that will also work in variable power mode.
- E0Liquid Capacity Is 2ml
- 510 Threaded
- Comes With Wide Bore Drip-Tip
- Top Airflow Ring
- Child Resistant Top Cap
Slipstream tank atomizer coils will sell in packs of five for about $13 to $15. I have been using the same SS316L stainless steel coil while testing for the Innokin Kroma review for three weeks in temp control. Mind you I do not vape at high temperatures, I like 220 degrees C (428 F). But I think I can safely tell you that these are very long lasting coils probably owing to the Aethon chip technology that works to ensure even heating of the heating element. I think it is safe to say that this is a step forward for vaping technology.
Using The Innokin iTaste Kroma 75 Watt TC Mod
The Innokin Kroma vape kit is very well built. It feels very durable and the ergonomic grip is a very nice touch not to mention it looks good. Speaking of looks, there are seven different color options available. The fire button is nice and large and perfectly located in terms of how the contours of the mod fit in your hand. The up and down buttons are near the bottom of the side of the device right above the USB charging port. Everything is compact and solidly assembled.
The OLED screen is located on the side and it is very clear and easy to read. The screen is located in the stylish detailing on the mod. Gives it a sporty look for sure.
Instead of five clicks to power up the mod the Kroma requires three clicks to turn it off or on. The menu screen shows “Coil Type” and gives the atomizer resistance. Then you select from SAME, Ni, Ti, SS or W (for variable wattage). The SAME option is convenient because if you swap one SS coil for another just click same and your previous settings go back into effect. So a very simple and streamlined use.
iTaste Kroma Mod Ramp Up Feature
If you want to access the ramp-up feature that does take a little effort. You press and hold the fire button and down button at the same time for 3 seconds. The temp up option will show up in the bottom right corner of the screen and you use the up and down buttons to select a ramp up wattage. This gives you another level of customization should you choose to access it.
If you hold the up and down buttons at the same time for three seconds the Kroma mod will give you a very precise atomizer resistance and tell you how many puffs you have taken since you last turned the device on. So that counter re-sets every time you turn it off.
Innokin iTaste Kroma Vape Kit Review Wrap-Up
Fantastic vaping. It’s really that simple to describe. Off course you want details! Okay. Well the Innokin Aethon chip promises a responsive performance and it certainly delivers. There is no discernible lag between hitting the fire button and getting ample vapor production. For the Innokin iTaste Kroma vape kit review I used the SlipStream tank 99% of the time. I briefly used the adapter and vaped with the eLeaf Lyche tank just to test out the adapter. It worked very well. But I loved vaping with the SlipStream tank that the Kroma mod was designed for because the overall low profile design was the ideal.
The coils are long-lasting and the vapor production is excellent. I got great flavor from both the SS and Kanthal coils with a flavor edge to the stainless steel. Overall I recommend vaping the Kroma with the SlipStream tank.
I found the Kroma kit being sold by Direct Vapor for $53.95 all in including free delivery. The sell authentic products so you don’t have to worry about getting a clone. You should always check the authenticity code on any quality vape device. You can check the Innokin authenticity code here.
And that’s about it! The Kroma vape kit is a fantastic buy and vapes beautifully. It fits easily in the palm of your hand and offers reliability and portability. It earns two thumbs up! So if you are looking for a small mod that creates tons of vapor, then the Kroma mod kit is a beautiful fit.
